Our story

Twenty-odd years, one problem

The name is newer than the company. Here is how Optsy got here.

  1. 2001

Founded as Terra, then FieldOne Systems

We spent the early years building field service management software around what customers actually needed, and became a trusted option across HVAC, plumbing, electrical, roofing, alarm and security, refrigeration and computer service, largely on the strength of the work order management system.

  2. 2015

    Microsoft acquires FieldOne Sky

As we grew, it became clear the problems our smaller customers faced were the same ones larger companies had, only bigger. That enterprise strategy became FieldOne Sky. With demand for mobile and cloud-based field service rising fast, Microsoft recognised what the platform could do and acquired it in July 2015.

  3. Today

Optsy, focused on small and mid-sized operators

We kept the small and medium business capability and took the name Optsy. That focus is deliberate: it lets us offer the level of personal interaction and customisation we always thought this segment deserved, using everything the enterprise years taught us. Customers now run Optsy in 48 states and 13 countries, across multiple languages and currencies.

How we work

What being a small company lets us do

Everything is built and supported by our own team. That single decision shapes most of what follows.

Developed in-house

Development, support and customisation are all handled by our own full-time team. Nothing is outsourced, which is why enhancement requests move quickly and issues get resolved rather than logged.

Field service only

We do not build general business software with a field service module bolted on. The whole product exists for companies that schedule jobs, dispatch technicians and track equipment.

Customisable by default

Workflows, forms and field data adapt to your specialty. The system is designed to fit your business rather than asking your business to adapt to rigid software.

Multilingual at the core

Multiple languages are built into the platform, not added by a third-party plugin. Our own developers maintain the translations, so accuracy and new languages are ours to control.

Built to scale with you

Start with the essentials and add tools as you add technicians, service areas and scheduling complexity. Growing should not mean migrating.

Support that knows the product

Because the people who answer are the people who build it, you get consistent guidance from someone who understands both the software and the trade.

Our mission

Make the daily running of a service business less work

The mission is straightforward: give field service companies an efficient, customisable and cost-effective platform that simplifies daily operations and improves profitability. That means eliminating paperwork, reducing manual errors, and giving teams the tools to deliver faster service and clearer communication.

We are headquartered in Mahwah, New Jersey, and support clients across the United States and internationally. Development, support and customisation all happen there, in-house, which is what lets us respond quickly when a customer needs something the product does not yet do.

To everyone who has followed us from Terra to FieldOne to here, and to the businesses we have yet to meet: welcome to Optsy.
